In Lanzarote countless sporting events and competitions are held throughout the year.

The Desafío Octava Isla (Eighth Island Challenge) is a sporting event that involves adding together the times of two modalities (Cross Triathlon and Trail) over two days of competition, both in the unique natural environment of the island of La Graciosa. For Triathlon Cross the distances offered are 1,000 m, 20 km and 6 km, and Trail distances are 31 km, 20 km and 8 km. Places are limited.
