Climate - As Lanzarote lies near the north African coast, it experiences a sub-tropical climate. In other words, the island enjoys a lot of sunshine, very little rain and pleasant temperatures all year round. Usually, steadily in the early to mid-20s. Temperatures can soar to the high 20s during the summer.
Beaches - It’s no surprise that many tourists flock to the island for a beach holiday, as they are simply stunning. There is a variety of different beaches in Lanzarote. From typical golden sand beaches to unique volcanic black sand beaches. Lanzarote boasts clear turquoise waters, which are wonderful to cool off in.
Sports/ Activities - Host to the iconic Ironman event. The rise in popularity of the island as an activity’s destination has also seen a continual development of high-quality sporting facilities. Known for its local wine - Lanzarote is home to almost 20 commercial vineyards and many more private growers. Vineyards began springing up in the 18th century following the volcanic eruptions which meant little else would grow in the black lava fields. Try the El Grifo or La Geria vineyards for tours and tastings
Extraordinary landscapes - Its volcanic landscapes have been the backdrop to a huge number of adverts, fil sets for A list actors such as Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek as well as serving as a training ground for astronauts from the European Space Agency.

Manrique was an artist, architect, environmental and political activist whose impassioned defence of what he called the “singularity” of the island has given him the status of a local legend. Manrique’s early insistence that new building on the island should be discreet, respectful, low rise and uniformly white has safeguarded Lanzarote’s clean and pleasant look. Lanzarote is also recognised as a Unesco Biosphere reserve promoting living and working in harmony with nature, by balancing conservation with sustainable use.
